What is Advent?

Advent is a season of Expecting, Preparing, Rejoicing and Accepting. This is a period of preparation for the birth of our Lord. Beginning four Sundays prior to Christmas and ending on Christmas Eve, Advent helps us to prepare for the coming, arrival or “advent” of the Christ child at Christmas. The first Sunday of Advent also marks the beginning of the Church calendar year. We can think of it as the Church’s “New Year’s Day”.

This site is intended to help you with your Advent journey. There are audio readings by Shawn Small, daily scriptures and daily prayers for each week of Advent as well as resources for you to explore. Each year at Irving Bible Church, we host an Advent kickoff. All are welcome and it will take place on November 27, 2011 between worship services.

Christmas Eve at Irving Bible Church

You’re invited to join us at Irving Bible Church for Christmas Eve.

On Saturday, December 24 we will be offering two identical services at 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Childcare will be available for children three years old and younger. The service will have special moments just for children, so feel free to bring them with you. Please help us plan to have a full staff that day by visiting our Christmas Services page to register your children.

We are located at 2435 Kinwest Parkway in Irving between MacArthur and Belt Line, just south of 635 LBJ Freeway. Map our location using google maps.
